Golf Swing Trainer – Improve Your Golf Game Immediately

There are many ways to improve one’s golf game. One way is through constant practice to improve one’s golf swing, which could take a very long time. There is also another way where the use of an advance golf gadget is employed. One can easily improve the way one swings, the strength of the swing, and one’s posture. This could materialize through the use of a golf swing trainer.

A golf swing trainer comes in many forms and purpose. In order to improve one’s golf game, one must improve his golf swing. In order to improve one’s golf swing, one must likewise improve his posture and golf club handling. This is what a golf swing trainer seeks to improve in the fastest way possible.

A golf swing trainer is available in every sport stores and on the Internet. One example is the electronic golf swing trainer. This is a very convenient swing trainer because it lets one practice at home or at the office. This gadget is simply attached to a club and it is all set. One just has to hit the ball and this electronic gadget will show you where the ball went, and it even tells you how far the golf ball traveled.

Another is the laser golf swing trainer. This electronic gadget uses an intense visible light beam which shows a straight direction that indicates the correct spot to stand, the correct direction or track movement, or the accurate path for one’s swing. The laser golf swing trainer will correct any problem one has with the way he is swinging. Whether the problem involves follow through, upswing, downswing, or any other problem you don’t know about, this gadget will tell you the right thing to do.

Other electronic golf swing trainers help one to properly swing every single time. They all have the same purpose and that is to help you improve the way you swing. One’s golf swing is improved through the repeated use of the gadget making every muscle used in a golf swing familiar with the proper way of swinging. In effect, the body will execute a movement that is often made through the use of swing trainers.

There are some golf swing trainers that focus on the proper posture or body consistency. Usually, this kind of golf trainer requires you to wear a coat or a body jacket that forces the arms, shoulders and the whole upper body to work together in one smooth motion. The producers of this kind of swing trainer believe that if the body has the perfect posture and motion, the hand and the wrist holding the club will just follow through.

Whatever golf swing trainer one uses, it will not be effective unless he devotes himself in perfecting the way he swings. True, a swing trainer can radically and immediately improve one’s golf swing, but without the proper practice, one will still be a beginner. Have you imagined using the swing trainer while competing with other golfers? A golf swing trainer will just help you improve, and if you have already improved the way you swing, it is up to you to perfect the game on your own.

Selecting The Right Golf And Golfing Equipment – Ladies’ Vs Men’s Golf Clubs

It is most important to select the correct golf equipment. Golf is a hard enough endeavor without making it a more difficult sport and challenge with poorly chosen and inappropriate equipment. Ladies golf clubs are different than the golf clubs used and chosen by male golfers.

Often just to start out and “try” the game of golf and golfing a prospective women golfer will start out with her husband’s or boyfriend’s old or “favorite” “clubs”.

While it may be advisable to find out if you like the game before spending a veritable fortune on equipment, in almost all cases men’s golf clubs and golf equipment will prove to be unsuitable , and indeed a most trying event, for the vast majority of women to start out their golf careers with .

What advice can be given – start slow and small to begin with, go out and purchase or perhaps if possible borrow a ladies 6 or 7 iron or irons. These can be new, used or as said – perhaps even borrowed for the moment. Once you have conducted your test case and evaluations and know better if you are going to take the game seriously, if at all, then you can make the choice of whether to add to the single club, if you purchased it, look for a decent set or half set or perhaps even have figured out that this whole golf thing is not for you – well at least for the moment.

There are three main reasons why it is a much better idea to have specific ladies clubs rather than run of the mill standard golf sets. The reasons have to do with swing weight, shaft flex and grip sizes.

Firstly swing weight is the method of referring to how heavy the golf club feels when it is swung. In terms of club weights tables’ ladies golf club weights range from about C0-C8. If you try out men’s golf clubs for fun, you will more than likely find them too heavy to control, it can be said that the essence of the golf swing is to control the clubhead. If you swing too heavy a golf club it will control you rather than the other way around. If on the other hand if you are stronger than the average women due to your size of have played such sports as squash or tennis men’s clubs may be just fine for you. But even if you fall in this category of strength and physique you may well be better to start off with a women’s set of golf clubs and then perhaps progress to a regular man’s set of golf clubs.

Next to consider is the actual shaft on lady’s golf clubs. These shafts on the whole are made and chosen to be more flexible which helps to promote clubhead speed and thus ultimately to improve the actual distance that the golf ball will travel and cover. Until you can generate so much power that the slightly longer and firmer shaft of a man’s golf club will give you additional control without sacrificing distance, then it is always advisable to use ladies “L” shafts. Remarkably some older and less athletic men actually derive greater benefit on the golf courses by using ladies golf clubs with the more flexible shafts , as a means of increasing their golf game and decreasing their golf scores. This is a result of the whippy shaft and lighter weight that enables them to control their golf clubs and thus gain extra distance on the links without much additional effort or expertise whatsoever.

As a last point regarding the distinction between the two sets of clubs is the grips on the clubs. The grips on ladies golf clubs are much smaller than those on men’s clubs. This makes lady’s clubs much easier to hold. In the case of women who find that they either have fairly large hands and/or long fingers larger grips may be more advantageous.

In these cases fingers may find that large grips help them to grip the club correctly.

Golf and the sport of golfing are hard enough sports without handicapping yourself with what may be considering not the most optimal and tailored golf hardware for yourself and your golfing preferences. Why make life and your golf game burdensome and not the easiest and best for an enjoyable game, pastime and lowest possible scores for that round or rounds of golf at your favorite golf courses?

How to Play Golf – Lower Your Golf Scores Using Visualization and Strategy

A Great Story, A Great Experience, and a Great Lesson

I was recently invited to play golf with a friend of mine and it is a story that I have to share.

The mind when given good visual images is capable of performing tremendous athletic performances. When you see real world examples of it in action, especially for higher handicap players, and how the creative side of golf if allowed to surface can overcome significant swing flaws, it is a story I feel compelled to share.

It is a beautiful Saturday afternoon in south Texas. The fall season is here and it is a great time to play golf in Texas. The temperature is around 85 degrees and while there are thunderstorms in the area, none of them will bother us this day.

My friend is an 18 handicap golfer, give or take a few strokes. On easier courses he can break 90 but today we are playing a private layout that is blanketed by tree lined fairways, heavy rough, very deep green side bunkers, and small undulating green complexes that are fast.

I do not get to play this course a lot but when I do, it is a real treat. Nick Price and other tour players compare it to the Valderrama Golf Club in Spain where they hold Ryder Cup matches and European PGA Tour events. Exacting tee shots, lots of doglegs, elevation changes, and small greens are the setting for the day. Needless to say, this is not a pushover golf course.

The Power Of Pictures and Strategy

My friend gets off to a slower than hoped for opening hole. The opening hole is not long but requires a very exacting tee shot because of very large oak trees outlining the fairway. The approach shot is not long but the green is small, undulated, and framed by very deep green side bunkers. He hits an approach shot over the green into one of the bunkers and makes double bogie.

While standing on the second tee box of the demanding par 3 second hole, he starts to describe his strategy for the hole in what I presumed to be idle conversation. He wants to intentionally hit a shot that ends up short of the green and then chip and putt for par. He has the fire power to hit the green but lacks the consistent accuracy to avoid the very penal bunkers that frame the entire green. He has identified his limitations and is outlining a strategy that plays into his 18 handicapper strengths. He hits his tee shot as planned, chips to within 15 feet, lips out his putt and makes bogie. The strategy almost pays off.

It is extremely important to identify your strengths and weaknesses and then develop strategies for every hole that play into your strengths. In many cases, especially for higher handicap players, that means ignoring your ego and playing with strategies that produce the lowest score not the longest drives and most daring approach shots.

As we walk along on our golf journey that day he continues to offer hints of what is strategies are for many of the more challenging shots he faces.

The Golf Mind Thrives On Pictures

Our golf instruction emphasizes the importance of playing with pictures. Pictures give the brain a much clearer sense of what the intended action is than words. Pictures give the brain a better sense of feeling and golf is all about feeling, tempo, and touch.

When golfers try to execute based upon specific verbal queues the outcome will be suspect. What do you think would happen if golfers tried to play the game with this mind set? “I intend to keep my left arm straight until it reaches the 9:00 position on the back swing at which point I will rotate my left forearm 45 degrees to the right and back which will set the club in a parallel position. From this position I will pause for 1.5 seconds and then fire my hips”…Sounds ridiculous and it is. Unfortunately there are many golfers trying to play golf this way instead of with pictures.

Verbalizing Helps Picture Formation

I do not know why my friend was in such a verbalizing mood but I did not interfere. I let him continue to tell me as much about his strategies as he wanted to.

On the toughest hole of the golf course, a 440 yard dogleg right par 4, playing uphill and into the wind, he pictured a strategy that would play down the right side of the hole to minimize the length. On his second shot he planned to advance the ball as far up the fairway as possible into a position where he would try to hit the green. In his mind he was trying to figure our how to make a great bogie.

He pushed his drive into the right rough and then hit a good three wood that ended up about 80 yards from the green. At this point he started to talk about his inability to play wedge shots consistently. I interrupted and asked him to think about what a great pitch shot would look like. He hit his wedge shot to within 10 feet and then made the putt…4 net 2…hmm.

As the day progressed, the more he verbalized his strategies, the better his pictures were and the better he played.

Later in the round we were standing on a dog leg right par 4 that is reachable in two for my friend. The driving area is tight. The problem is that when he tries to hit his driver, more times than not, he gets into trouble. Today he decides to alter his strategy to include a three wood off the tee which he knows will lead to a longer approach shot. All he wants to do is get the tee ball in play, hit the ball short of the green and try to chip and putt for par.

He hits the three wood into the middle of the fairway. Takes a hybrid club and hits a great shot that takes a hard bounce and ends up on the green. He mentioned 2 putts for par and I stopped him again. We altered his pictures to include 1 putt for birdie. He made the putt for a 3 net 2…hmm.

Great Golf Is Played By Pictures

The more my friend verbalized his strategies the better his pictures were. He played great and I think it was his personal best score on that course. The picture development process is one of the most important aspects to playing great golf.

Most golfers chase the perfect swing. They spend hours chasing and trying to develop something that does not exist. Try spending more of your time working on the mental side of the game. The picture development process described in this article is called visualization.

All great players have tremendous visualization skills. Work on making your visualization skills one of your strengths and watch your scores go down.

New Golf Tip – How Mind-Movies Will Improve Your Golf Quickly

If you want to improve your golf game nothing will get you on the right track more quickly than well formulated Mind-Movies. The good news is that you can at last get a really first class guideline on how to develop effective Mind-Movies.

A great deal is written about visualization in sport. A lot of it seems to center around the idea that what the sports person should do is visualize the result they wish to attain.

I do NOT agree with this.

I agree that it is a good idea to have objectives and targets and to visualize those objectives, but that it NOT the most powerful way to use visualization in sport, or indeed in any other area of your life.

In any aspect of our lives objectives only serve as a destination for your efforts. So it helps to visualize your golf ball nestling near the hole. But what gets you to that destination is the effort that you make and the quality of that effort. It is the quality of your golf swing that gets your ball next to the hole.

The real power of visualization is in its ability to guide your effort. Good visualization provides a guide line or template for the body movements necessary to a good golf swing.

Once you know what you’re doing you can create and produce a Mind-Movie of your golf swing in a matter of minutes. And you can make that swing as powerful, accurate and elegant as you want.

The other great beauty of visualization is that it gives you the ability to constantly hone and improve the Mind-Movie which is guiding your body and thus your swing. So you can get better and better as you rehearse your swing more and more in your mind.

And, because no-one else knows that you’re working on your golf swing, you can practice in your mind anywhere you like and as often as you like. The new Golf Mind-Movies Power Pack recommends that you practice visualizing your golf swing as often as you can.

The trick is to learn how to write, direct and produce a good Mind-Movie which will guide your swing so that it becomes a powerful, reliable method of propelling your golf ball accurately to any target you choose.

Whether you are new to golf or an old hand The Golf Mind-Movies Power Pack will almost certainly improve your game in next to no time.

The fact that the beta trial version of The Golf Mind-Movies Power Pack sold out in just 19 hours bears strong testimony to the revolutionary effect that Mind-Movies are having on the games of many golfers. Go here to get more information: www.knowledge-download.com/TheMindMoviesGolfPowerPack/

A Golf Fitness Coach Equals Great Golf

Golf fitness coach. Have you ever considered one…and if so, what exactly were you looking for? There are many ‘general fitness’ trainers trying to get a piece of the golf fitness and training market that seems to be rapidly gaining exposure both on the television and in print thanks to Tiger, Vijay and Annika.

But the first thing you need to consider when looking into hiring a golf fitness coach or program is the trainers experience in golf. Yes…that is high on the list of requirements. Does he/she know golf? Do they know the biomechanics of the golf swing? How about muscle function during the golf swing?

An easy test is during the initial interview or if you’re researching it online is to either ask very golf specific swing technique questions; or take a look at the information on the website. You’ll find out real quick if this person or program can help your golf swing, game and health.

A golf fitness coach or program should incorporate strength, flexibility, endurance, body awareness, balance, stability and even a nutrition component.

It’s easy for a trainer to have a strength component…but is it specific to golf? A quick test. Take a look at some of the exercises. Are any of them on seated machines for instance? If they are…run! This is NOT a golf fitness coach and/or program. This is considered ‘general fitness’.

Now stretching. There are dozens of stretches for all people. But take a look at some of them. Do they even remotely look like they will benefit your golf swing? Stretches involving trunk flexibility; lower back; hamstring; and even shoulders specific to the mechanics of the swing are what you want. General stretches are better than nothing, but will delay your results. You want specific stretches.

Body awareness. Does any of the exercises resemble golf positions or phases of the swing? Do they look like you would be on your feet and in your golf posture? As stated above, if they are seated on machines, your body will learn nothing in regards to your golf swing. Training your body specific to golf incorporates positions almost identical to what your body would be in during any part of the golf swing.

Stability. Training your body to improve stability in your swing can get a little complex if you really want to see results. The swing happens at between 80-100 miles an hour. One of the biggest flaws of amateur golfers is moving in their golf swing. Moving either laterally (sliding), vertically (up and done) or both. This is death to your golf swing. To improve your stability involves specific strength drills most trainers don’t even know about.

I could go on-and-on about the requirements of a golf fitness coach or program. It is critical you make the right decision. I have heard horror stories of golfers working with ‘so-called’ golf fitness experts and their game getting worse. With the proper research this won’t happen to you. So definitely consider a golf fitness coach
